"Unlike most dancers, I had the unfortunate fate of meeting my expiration date right at the beginning of my career."
Kay Tien, Creator of Pivot Pointe
Kay Tien is a former dancer who trained under the direction of Germany’s most renowned ballet names, the late Prof. Konstanze Vernon, former prima ballerina and artistic director of the Bavarian State Ballet, and founder of the Ballet Academy - the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. After suffering a series of chronic injuries, Tien turned down the opportunity to join the Bavarian State Ballet's Junior Company and transitioned into business two weeks later.
Since her departure in 2010, Tien has expanded her international portfolio to work in art and design, luxury fashion, consumer electronics, architectural development, and the performing arts, developing and leading marketing strategies and projects for clients such as Monster Products, Thom Browne, Hines, and Youth America Grand Prix. She has represented clients at the MTV European Music Awards, Paris Fashion Week, and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to list a few.
A hybrid of both business and dance, Tien is now devoted to empowering the next generation of dancers.
